Shaw Island Winter Classic Orcas Island Yacht Club's tenth annual Shaw Island Winter Classic Yacht Race is Saturday, February 13, 2010. The only mark on the race course is Shaw Island, keep it to starboard. The race begins at 10:00 am off the Orcas Island ferry dock in Harney Channel, with the Orcas Hotel balcony serving as the committee boat. The race circumnavigates Shaw Island clockwise. West Sound Marina provides free moorage for racers.A delicious post-race awards dinner and trophies are sponsored by the Orcas Hotel.
