Come stay in False Creek and tour Vancouver. Close to Granville Island and it's many attractions. Details: http://oiyc.org/vancouver_city_cruise.html Sunday morning the 25th of July, Time Bandit will depart West Sound on Orcas at 9:00AM headed to the Customs Dock on Pender Island. After lunch at the restaurant at Pender we will make our way to Clam Bay and make anchor for the evening. This is a fine anchorage and there is plenty of room for many boats. Monday morning the 26th of July we will depart Clam Bay at 11:00AM and go 3 miles to pass through Polier Pass at slack tide headed for the City of Vancouver. Total distance of the leg is 30 miles. It is about a 4 hour trip for Time Bandit and we expect to hit the dock in False Creek shortly after 3:00PM. Beer will be served aboard Time Bandit for those who help her tie up at her slip. Dinner Monday night might be at the Bridges Seafood Restaurant. Bridges Sea Food On Tuesday I would like to take the City Bus over to Stanley Park and then walk about Granville Island in the evening. Wednesday Evening. Following is the link http://www.bardonthebeach.org/ for the Bard on the Beach (part of the Shakespeare Festival) in Vancouver. The $103 Canadian includes a BBQ dinner, Much Ado About Nothing (showing July 28th on the main stage - with the City of Vancouver as a backdrop), and a great view of the Celebration of Light Fireworks. The venue is close to where we will be moored and a $1.50 foot ferry will take you there. We would like to know how many people are interested and then people need to make their reservations soon. We're checking if we need to make our reservations as a group to be able to sit together. |
