Joint Holiday Potluck & Lighted Boat Parade
The Lighted Yacht Rendezvous is coming up December 15th a Saturday!
We encourage both Sail and Power yachts to join in the fun! Here is the plan:
Enjoy our annual Lighted Yacht Rendezvous, on December 15th, a Saturday, in West Sound, with a joint WSCC OIYC dinner to follow at West Sound Community Club’s Holiday Potluck.
Lighted yachts will rendezvous at 1630 in front of Past Commodore Clyde Teague's home
(N48035’ .822” W1220 56’ .924”), rain or otherwise. At 1645, I plan to radio the captain of WSF Elwha for a sail past for the ferry passengers, and then the fleet will sail in front of the Teague home for photos en route to the OIYC dock via the homes along the East shore of West Sound, with stops at the McCoys, Walsh’s and Adkins. If you have questions or need more information, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 360-920-7718.
Note for Skippers: Take note of navigation hazards on the south and west side of Picnic Island.
Potluck: WSCC President Ian Wareham has invited OIYC members to join in on the WSCC Holiday meal. The social starts at 1800, with dinner at 1830. WSCC will provide hams. It’s a potluck, so please plan to bring a dish or other appropriate fare with you when you come.
Viewing the lighted boats from WSCC might be possible as early at 1745. As they arrive, you may wish to greet the yachts that will tie up on the OIYC dock for the event and possibly for the night. (Skippers, if you can leave the holiday lights on for continued viewing during dinner, please do so.)
See you there!
