Holiday Lighted Boat Parade and Pot Luck Dinner-- Dec. 21st
Push back against the rain and darkness of the Winter Solstice by firing up your putt-putts and lining your boats with strings of holiday lights for the annual Lighted Boat Parade, to be held on Saturday, December 21st.
At 4:30pm, boats will rendezvous off of Bayhead Marina-- east of the ferry landing-- and-- led by pilot and master navigator Captain Ian Wareham-- the parade will wend it’s way along the east shoreline of West Sound-- dodging all ferries, rocks, bouys and reefs along the way—to tie up at the Orcas Yacht Club dock in time to get good seats for the joint Orcas Island Yacht Club and West Sound Community Center Holiday Meal which begins at 6pm.
This will be a Pot Luck Dinner, so please bringing something tasty to share – and the WSCC will provide yummy yuletide hams.
So come by boat, car, plane, train, dogsled or polar express —but be sure not to miss this warm and festive holiday event. Boaters who wish to join the lighted boat parade, please email me at email@example.com, or call me at 503 804-1925, and let me know how many beautifully lighted watercraft we can expect.
Thank you, and see you on Dec. 21st--
— Carl Davis, Co-Pilot and Organizer
