This cruise to Bill Carlstrom's favorite Mid-Sound places (no, really...) was held from August 15th to 25th. Included were La Conner, Coupeville, Langley, Edmonds, Seattle (Bell Harbor), Port Ludlow and Port Townsend (Point Hudson). Only pictures from the first few days are included now but pictures from the rest of the trip will be added over time.
The Orcas Island Yacht Club is the only U.S. yacht club that is invited to participate in Victoria Days. The Victoria Days' boats are moored on the Victoria Inner Harbor docks, which are the center of Victoria Days' activities. The boating festivities culminate with Sail Past, the procession of Victoria Days' boats past the reviewing stand, where a member of the Royal Canadian Mounties returns the Skippers' salutes. This year, the Victoria Days' Cruise was May 16 - 20.
48 people and 19 boats attended OIYC’s annual Spring Cruise to Roche Harbor. Most people arrived on Friday (April 20) and left on Sunday (April 22) but some arrived on Thursday and one couple left on Saturday. Most people came by boat and stayed on their boat but some people were guests on other boats and some stayed in the hotel. One nice thing about going to Roche Harbor, there are lots of choices.
The I - 5 Cruise, to the Seattle Boat Show, was a tremendous success! Steve Emmes was the Pilot and Wes Heinmiller graciously volunteered his beautiful boat to transport the OIYC group to and from the Seattle Yacht Club dinner. I didn't take many pictures so, hopefully, some of the other attendees will provide pictures as well.
